By following a weekend skincare routine, you can keep your skin healthy and enhance its overall texture, whether you have dry, oily, or sensitive skin. In this blog, we’ll give you a deep cleanse weekend skincare routine that you can indulge in at home.
But before we jump into the juicy details, let’s take a quick look at a few basics.
Hydration is important, so you should drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.
Did you know that swapping out your cotton pillowcase for a silk one could do wonders for your skin?
Did you know that tying your hair up in a loose braid or wrapping it with a silk turban could prevent breakouts around your hairline?
And did you know that even if you’re staying indoors, you still need to wear sunscreen?
Applying sunscreen before heading out and reapplying it every two hours can protect you from harmful UV rays, soothe inflammation, and prevent aging.
So, keep these basics in mind for optimal skin health.
Weekend Skincare Routine At Home
If you’re a skincare newbie, start by following a basic routine to determine how your skin reacts.
Once your skin has acclimated, incorporate additional products such as scrubs, masks, and spot treatments that can take your skincare to the next level.
Here’s my tried and tested weekend skincare routine that effortlessly removes impurities and nourishes my skin.
Step 1: Steam Your Face
Start by steaming your face for five to ten minutes.
Facial steaming opens up your pores, helps to loosen accumulated dirt, oil, and other impurities, and softens blackheads for deeper cleansing.
You can either use a bucket filled with warm water and cover your head with a towel to create steam or use a facial steamer.
The steam opens up pores to remove dead skin cells and impurities that clog pores and contribute to future breakouts.
It also increases blood flow, nourishing your skin and delivering oxygen, resulting in a flawless, glowing complexion.
Step 2: Use a Pore Extraction Tool
Before using a pore extraction tool, ensure that your face and hands are properly cleaned.
Pore extraction tools should only be used for blackheads.
Use of a needle-like pore extraction tool is the easiest way to remove whiteheads/blackheads after steaming your face.
Place the tool around your nose and press gently to remove blackheads.
Pore extractions also help to unclog pores and prevent future breakouts.

Step 3: Use a Face Scrub/Exfoliator
Revitalize and restore your skin’s natural glow with a face scrub/exfoliator.
Using a scrub removes dead skin cells and improves the texture of your skin.
Using a face scrub once a week helps to unclog pores, enhances your skin tone, fades spots and scars over time.
And it even helps skincare products absorb faster, thereby reducing the signs of aging.
Step 4: Use a Face Mask
To step up your skincare routine, indulge in a rejuvenating face mask.
The right face mask tackles your primary skin concerns, from dryness to large pores and acne.
Like face serums and moisturizers, face masks deliver active ingredients and nutrients to your skin, but more efficiently.
Step 5: Your Daily Skincare Routine
Great skin is not something that is achieved overnight. It is a result of consistent efforts and a customized skincare routine.
